17 May Meeting.

Toastmaster: Grant.

George gave us a speech from the Story Telling Manual assignment #2, ’Getting Personal’ . He related a story of his experiences after the Wahine Storm, his connections with friends in Eastbourne, discovering flotsam from the shipwreck and meeting up with Theresa.

Kathy led us down the road of Emotional Interviewing techniques, with clues to notice when our own GP might be using such, and the benefits of those strategies.

Joel gave a very interesting Icebreaker about the influences of a particular woman in his life, the identity of which caught most of us by surprise.

Garry gave us pertinent Table Topics based upon the expected budget. No-one had difficulty addressing the subject from very independent viewpoints. Jesse won the award for best of the day.

Victor followed up with clues to, and a summary of running a good Table Topics session.

Chris McCabe gave us a rundown on the makeup of the new NZ Toastmasters districts.

A very entertaining meeting summed up with detail and analysis by General Evaluator, Johanna.
