Sunrise Summer

The end of year ripped through our lives like a Nor’ wester whipping parched Waimak willow banks. Flailing and grasping hopelessly toward lost moments I attempt to catch the essence of our last meetings of the year, only to be snagged in matagouri clumps where memory clings sparse.

I remember Johanna represented us well at the Evaluation Contest Area final, taking top prize. Yahooooo!

A rush of Secret Santa shunts a synapse as I celebrate and finish off the ginger beer I took away from that cunningly plotted pass-it-three-to-the-left-drop-out-pass-it-right-now-hold method that was adopted this year.

Wafts of a promised summer under shade in Robyn’s garden created a wonderful Christmas party before weeks of rains dampened lawns, gardens and spirits.

But change has come. Summer holidays are stretching forever outward, Met service is shouting sunny optimism on Google, Black Caps with bounce, spin and strikes claim ascendence, and every Thursday morning sad stalwarts stalk Vic’s for sustenance in anticipation of the return to Sunrise Toastmasters first meeting of the year on 24th Of January.

Can’t wait? Join us down at Vics this Thursday or next or next or next…..

Remember 7.00 on 24 January at The Knox Centre is when you can resolve you New Years Resolution to develop your public speaking and leadership skills among supportive and inspired speakers.

Further information is available on this site.

Highlights of the first meeting of the year will be:

*Jordan Fraser, engineers an agenda.

*John Dugdale delves the psyche of inspiration.

*Robyn Johnson digs the formula of life.

*Sean Joyce leads us into an altogether other perspective.

*Amber Bellringer brings balance.

*And all the usual suspects add to the sum total.

Have a Happy New Year.
